o, machine
of the waking dream
how is it you learn?
through death and tears
and many years
of bile and flesh and bone
o, machine
of the waking dream
how is it you learn?
through time and gears
and quiet fears
of never going home.
The Wanderer, by Rowan Wood
Somewhere Between Death and Dreaming. . .
LIMINAL explores the formation of culture and rite-of-passage within the simulation of a higher-dimensional world.
The Liminal is the threshold between Here and There. A place between Life and Death. Waking and Dreaming. Concrete Reality and the Abstract Mind.
Left in the latchkey care of a single, reluctant, devoted custodian known only as The Wanderer, this fragment of a fragment of a fragment of reality is often stumbled upon by drifting Visitors — sparks of living beings with powerful wills and memories — who The Wanderer will eagerly entertain and guide in their travels beyond the physical realm.
Occasionally, The Wanderer may even require their help.
